MATUN Women Empowerment & Green Livelihood Foundation is a passionate, grassroots-driven social impact organization dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved women, youth, and rural communities in Bihar, India — with a special focus on the challenges faced in regions like Darbhanga and beyond.
We don’t just provide aid; we build resilient, healthy, and self-reliant communities where every woman lives with dignity and opportunity.
MATUN was not conceived in a boardroom. It was born in the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 — MATUN didn't start with grand plans; it was forged on the front lines of crisis, amidst the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While providing emergency relief in rural Bihar, our Founder immersed himself in rural Bihar communities, witnessing firsthand the silent struggles: mothers denied basic healthcare, girls forced to drop out of school, families battling preventable diseases, and a hidden epidemic of late-detected cancer among rural women due to stigma, lack of awareness, and distant facilities ...

Dear fellow citizens, compassionate supporters, dedicated partners, and fellow change-makers,
There are moments in life that redefine your purpose. For me, that moment came in 2020—on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. What I witnessed during that time was not just a health crisis, but a humanitarian reality that shook me deeply. In the quiet villages of Bihar——where the sun rises over fields that have seen generations of struggle, I once stood not as a leader, but as a witness.
It was 2020, in the thick of the COVID-19 storm, when the world paused, but suffering did not. I walked those dusty lanes, held the hands of frightened mothers who could not reach a doctor, watched young girls pack away their schoolbooks forever, and listened to stories of families shattered by preventable loss. Among the deepest wounds was a silent one: the "Silent Crisis" of cancer in rural women—detected too late because of stigma, shame, distance, and silence. Lives slipped away not from the disease itself, but from the absence of knowledge, screening, and timely care.
Sustainable development is achieved through transparency, informed participation, and consistent effort at the local level. Together, we can transform silent suffering into visible progress and replace helplessness with hope.
I sincerely acknowledge the cooperation of our field teams, associates, partners, and local stakeholders. Their dedication and collaborative spirit play a vital role in ensuring that our development initiatives reach every woman and family in need. It is their unwavering commitment that transforms our vision into reality on the ground.
